05 — REMAIN

Pruned to Bear Fruit

Jesus uses a vine to show how the Father carefully forms His people.

01 — READ

John 15:1–2

Read John 15:1–2. Notice the care of the Father, who Jesus calls the Gardener.

02 — UNDERSTAND

Jesus teaches that the Father cares for the branches that bear fruit so they can bear more. God forms, corrects, and leads His children with wisdom and love.

Do not call every hardship, loss, or disappointment God’s pruning. Hard things can have many causes. Bring them honestly to God, test your beliefs by Scripture, and seek wise care when needed.

03 — REFLECT

Be honest before God.

  • Is there a habit, attitude, or belief that Jesus may be inviting me to release?
  • How can I receive correction without shame and remain close to Jesus?

Keep your answers private. Speak to God or write in a notebook.

04 — PRAY

Speak honestly to God.

Use these words as a starting place, not as a formula.

Father, You know me completely. Show me what needs to change, and help me receive Your correction with trust. Keep me close to Jesus as You form my life. Amen.

05 — RESPOND

Practice one faithful step.

  • Ask God to show you one thing to release or one truth to receive. Take one gentle, faithful step in response.
  • If a hardship feels too heavy, do not carry it alone. Speak with a trusted mature Christian, pastor, or qualified helper.

06 — CONTINUE

Next, look for the fruit that grows as you remain in Christ.
