04 — RETURN
Count the Cost
Following Jesus means surrendering yourself to Him each day.
01 — READ
Luke 9:23–25
Read Luke 9:23–25. Notice that Jesus speaks openly about denying yourself, taking up your cross daily, and following Him.
02 — UNDERSTAND
Jesus does not invite us to add Him to a life we still control. He calls us to follow Him as Lord.
This does not mean earning salvation through suffering. Jesus saves by grace. It means His grace leads us into a surrendered, obedient life.
03 — REFLECT
Be honest before God.
- What area of my life am I still trying to keep outside Jesus’ leadership?
- What is one next act of obedience I already know He is calling me to take?
Keep your answers private. Speak to God or write in a notebook.
04 — PRAY
Speak honestly to God.
Use these words as a starting place, not as a formula.
Jesus, You are Lord. I surrender this part of my life to You. Give me courage to deny what pulls me away from You and strength to obey You today. Amen.
05 — RESPOND
Practice one faithful step.
- Choose one concrete act of obedience and complete it today.
- If the step affects someone else, act with truth, humility, and love.
06 — CONTINUE
Next, receive grace as a gift—not a reward for doing enough.
